Digitization project:
The Siskiyou County Historical Society feels strongly about being able to digitize our materials and others that are available to us and our researchers. The reasons can be widely varied, but understand that simply because an item is digitized it does not mean the original document or information is destroyed. Here are some of the most important reasons we feel digitization is important:
- The information can be stored in more than one physical location. This creates a backup system that can be used in case of fire, flood, or other natural disaster that could potentially destroy records.
- The information can then be made more available via our website and other online resources.
- Information can be digitally catalogued, made searchable online, etc.
Siskiyou Veterans project:
The Siskiyou County Historical Society is embarking on a project to obtain information about all who have served our country and hailed or lived in Siskiyou County. We are interested in any documents, photos, letters, remembrances, or any printed materials that a family might have that can provide information on their family member as they served.
If you have information, photos, maps, materials, etc. you would be willing to donate, or allow us to copy/digitize (and return your originals) we would be most grateful! We are looking for information on anyone who has served since Siskiyou County began up to current time.
If interested please print and mail our Veterans Project Questionnaire (pdf).
